When he stepped out in the red sparkly outfit, white shirt, and big red bow at Archbishop Sancroft High School in Norfolk, staff and students cheered.
“Everyone cheered when he got out of the car. I cried, some teachers cried. He was being true to himself,” Green said. “Everyone’s been supportive, and his class is amazing. Let kids be themselves and they’ll shine.”
Green backed her son with a tweet on July 1, with pics of Korben in the outfit.
She wrote, “At 12, my son said he’d go to prom in a gown. Four years later, it happened. I’m proud of him for being himself. The school’s reaction was great.”
Her post went viral. Millions shared, commented, and praised the young guy.
Even Michelle Visage from RuPaul’s Drag Race saw it and said, “You’re a great mom. Your kid’s a star.”
