Man Notices His Newborn’s Skin Is Too Dark, Gets a DNA Test behind His Wife’s Back

“I didn’t tell you, but… we used a sperm donor, John. The clinic said it was anonymous and secure. I thought you knew.”
John was shocked. “A donor? You did this without telling me?”
“I was desperate! You were so sad when we couldn’t conceive. I thought this would give us the family we wanted. I didn’t think you’d question it,” Sarah cried.
John sat on the couch, his mind in a whirl. He felt betrayed, angry, confused, but also a bit relieved she wasn’t unfaithful. Still, he felt he should have known.
“I don’t know what to say,” he muttered.
Sarah wiped her tears. “I should’ve told you. But don’t blame the baby. He’s still ours.”
John looked at the crib where the baby slept. His heart softened thinking of their shared moments. He realized love was more important than DNA.
“I need time to think. But I’ll always love the baby. He’s my son,” he said.
Sarah nodded, hopeful.

Over the next weeks, with a counselor’s help, John and Sarah worked through their problems. It wasn’t easy, but they rebuilt trust. As John held his son each night, he knew love made a family, not DNA.
