Walmart Recalls Chicken Broth Brand in 9 States

Refresco Beverages US Inc. started the voluntary recall on August 23, 2024. The FDA classified it as a Class II recall. It affected 9,535 cases in 25 states, including Alabama, Florida, New York, and Puerto Rico.

On September 13, 2024, Refresco Beverages said the recall was “out of an abundance of caution.” They knew some lots of their apple juice, made with supplier – provided concentrate, had inorganic arsenic a bit over the FDA’s 10ppb limit. They said no incidents were reported and told consumers to check the FDA’s recall list. The recalled juice, with a “Best if Used by DEC2824 CT89 – 6” code, is still being recalled.

Recently, a popular chip brand also faced an FDA recall. On December 16, 2024, Frito – Lay announced the recall of some 13 oz. bags of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips after a consumer alert.

The recall targeted bags with undeclared milk, risky for those allergic or sensitive to milk. The affected products were sold at some retail and e – commerce spots in Oregon and Washington, and customers might have bought them as early as November 3, 2024.

No allergic reactions were reported then, but consumers were told to be careful. Check the “Guaranteed Fresh” date of February 11, 2025, UPC 28400 31041, and manufacturing codes 6462307xx or 6463307xx. If you’re allergic to milk, toss the chips.

A Frito – Lay rep confirmed the recall details to Newsweek, stressing the company’s focus on transparency and consumer safety. They said no other Lay’s products were involved. Affected customers can call Frito – Lay’s Consumer Relations at 1 – 800 – 352 – 4477 during business hours.

Two days after Frito – Lay’s announcement, the FDA republished the details on its site to spread the word and keep the public safe.

According to the Mayo Clinic, milk allergy is common in kids. It’s an abnormal immune response to milk proteins. Cow’s milk causes most reactions, but milk from other mammals can too.
