    You can use saltwater to defrost fish. Get a big bowl, add a tablespoon of salt, and fill it with water until the fish is covered. Stir until the salt dissolves, then put the frozen fish in to soak.
    Salt helps with defrosting, just like it melts ice. After about 15 minutes, check the fish. If it’s defrosted and still fresh, you’re ready to cook.
  2. Defrosting with White Vinegar
    Another way is to use white vinegar. Take a large pot, add enough white vinegar (but not too much to avoid a sour taste).
    Stir and then put the frozen fish in. This method takes a bit longer than saltwater. After around 20 minutes, the fish will be soft and fresh, good to cook.
  3. Defrosting in the Microwave
    Using the microwave to defrost fish is quick and easy. Just take the fish out of the freezer, put it in the microwave, and set it to the defrost setting on low heat. Leave it for about 3 minutes, then check.
    If it’s not fully defrosted, you can microwave it for another 1 – 2 minutes until it’s soft all the way through. This method works for pork too, defrosting quickly without losing flavor.
