Funny obit…

When a loved one passes, families often write an obit. It’s a loving tribute, full of cherished memories.

Most aim to honor the departed with respect, but not all go for a sugary-sweet version. Some choose to be frank and honest.

Obits are public, popping up in papers or online, seen by dozens, sometimes hundreds.

Take Kathleen Dehmlow’s. Her grown kids penned an obit that, at first blush, seems typical. But read on, and you’ll spot some serious family drama. The last line? A real shocker, and, oddly, a bit of a chuckle.

The Redwood Falls Gazette ran it, but after a barrage of criticism, yanked it.
