“Wheel of Fortune” fans are up in arms, convinced that contestant Megan was wrongly robbed of a $40,000 prize for what could’ve been a correct answer.
Megan, a married high school choir director in California, had to crack a bonus puzzle with two words in the “Living Thing” category.
When host Pat Sajak led Megan to the board as the wheel spun, the incomplete phrase “_ N’R _ _ _” showed up.
Megan carefully picked letters and changed it to “P_N_’ RC _ D.”
In the final ten seconds, she blurted out something like “Pink Orchid” or close to it. Right when the timer dinged and the right letters lit up, showing “Pink Orchid” was correct, Megan was visibly miffed.
Sajak, sensing she might be on to something, whipped out the prize card and showed her the $40,000 she could’ve won, way more than the $14,007 she got.
