Prince William had to answer a question about Kate Middleton in person when a veteran left him no choice. Here’s what he said.
William joined King Charles III and Queen Camilla at a D-Day 80th anniversary event in Portsmouth, England. Kate was absent as she’d been out of the public eye since late December.
It turned out she was having cancer treatment and couldn’t do her official duties.
In a video on X (formerly Twitter), a wheelchair-bound veteran asked William if his wife was getting better.
The 41-year-old Prince of Wales quickly replied, “Yes, she’d love to be here today.”
Then William shared that Kate’s grandmother had military service, saying, “I was reminding everyone her grandmother served at Bletchley Park. So she had quite a few things in common with some of the ladies here who were at Bletchley.”
In March this year, after months out of public view, Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis on social media.
