Famed Rapper Find Out He Has No Fire Insurance as His Mansion Burns Down In L.A.

Many in Southern California lost homes to wildfires, just left with ashes. Rapper and YouTuber DDG (Daryl Dewayne Granberry Jr.) is one of them. He recently said his house has no fire insurance, which could mean losing millions.

On January 9, during a Twitch livestream as flames neared his L.A. home, the 27-year-old said, “I found out today I don’t have fire insurance. It’d be a waste if my place burned down.” Amid the chaos, he rushed to get insurance while staying safe.

DDG left Central Michigan University for an entertainment career and rose to fame. His platinum-certified “Moonwalking in Calabasas” and 2017 hit “Lettuce” sealed his success. But this insurance mistake could hit him hard financially.

Since starting on January 7, the wildfires have burned nearly 40,000 acres, killed 11 people, and destroyed hundreds of homes, including guitarist Larry LaLonde’s. Thousands are still displaced, and containment’s under 15%.

DDG’s situation shows how important being prepared is, especially in high-risk areas. Fans support him as he faces this, showing the resilience of communities hit by these disasters.
