How To Get Rid Of Earwigs With One Simple Ingredient

Earwigs are mostly harmless, but no one wants them around home. This year, they seem more common; I’m seeing a lot more in my garden. If you notice earwigs near your house or outdoors, here’s a simple and effective solution.

Facebook user Alicia Alexander said she filled a shallow bowl with about half a cup of olive oil to get rid of earwigs in her backyard. Then, she put the bowl outside in the garden or on the deck. In less than 24 hours, the bowl had many earwigs. And after 36 hours, even more were in it!

While earwig numbers seem to be increasing, their presence around your home might mean there’s rotting wood. Many pests, like earwigs, are drawn to rotting wood. So, it’s smart to check your home’s structure and the condition of wooden decks, porches, etc.

If you’re tired of earwigs, hope this simple but powerful hack works. Thanks, Alicia, for sharing!
