4-year-old girl found missing in San Juan
The police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the case of a girl found missing after a report of her disappearance; the alleged perpetrator is in custody and under legal investigation.
A four-year-old girl was reported missing this Sunday in San Juan de la Maguana. The girl was last seen around 12:20 p.m. Authorities located her hours later.
The Western Regional Directorate of the National Police initiated an investigation in conjunction with the Public Prosecutor’s Office. After receiving the report, they launched a search operation to locate the minor as quickly as possible.
The girl was found after 3:00 p.m. She was inside a house near her residence , located on the corner of Sánchez Street and Estrelleta Street, in San Juan de la Maguana.
At the scene where she was found, authorities arrested a man. He was Alcibíades Encarnación Lebrón, 47, who was at the home where the girl was found.
The detainee remains in police custody while the investigation continues. Authorities reported that the man confessed to having touched the girl with the intent to abuse her.
Given this situation, the girl was immediately taken to a health center for medical attention. There, she will be evaluated by a medical examiner to verify her physical condition and detect any possible injuries.
The medical process seeks to determine the minor’s general health status. This step is part of the legal protocol in cases like this, where there is suspicion of assault or attempted abuse.
