TV presenter and inspirational campaigner Katie Piper has shared some “overwhelmingly joyful” news — she’s expecting her third child with husband Richard Sutton, after an emotional year-and-a-half-long fertility journey that fans never saw coming.
Now aged 41 in 2025, Katie — who bravely rebuilt her life after surviving a horrifying acid attack in 2008 — said she’s “so thankful” to be pregnant again after quietly trying to expand her family.
Katie and Richard, who tied the knot back in 2015, are already proud parents to daughter Belle, born in 2014. Now 11 years old, Belle is overjoyed at the idea of becoming a big sister — and even has strong opinions on the baby’s gender!
Speaking exclusively to Hello! magazine, Katie revealed:
“Becoming a mum has enriched my life in ways I never imagined. I feel so thankful to be experiencing that again.”
But this pregnancy hasn’t been easy.
“I’ve felt really nauseous and tired this time around — I don’t remember it being like this with Belle. But I’m not complaining because we’re absolutely over the moon.”
What many fans didn’t know is that Katie and Richard had actually been trying to conceive for nearly 18 months, keeping their struggle private during a time that was, in her words, “so emotional.”
“I’ve been asked so many times if we were planning to have another child,” she said. “The truth is, we were — but it’s a very private and emotional process when you’re going through it.”
And what does big sister Belle think?
This morning, Katie recalled Belle walking over, kissing her tummy, and sweetly saying:
“A girl, like me!”
Katie added:
“I really don’t have a preference. I have a very special bond with my sister Suzy — who, funnily enough, is also pregnant right now — so another girl would be lovely. But Richard would love a boy to kick a football around with, so either way we’ll be thrilled.”
In a heartwarming twist, Katie’s third baby is due on New Year’s Eve, closing out 2025 with a bang — and a brand new beginning.
Katie Piper’s journey has inspired millions. Scarred and left blind in one eye following a brutal 2008 attack orchestrated by her ex-boyfriend, she’s since undergone over 100 surgeries and transformed her life into one of resilience, hope, and advocacy.
Now, with baby number three on the way, Katie’s story just keeps evolving — and fans everywhere are rallying behind her with love and support.
