Peculiarly shaped fruits

On the weekend, Amy went to the supermarket to buy fruits. She saw some peculiarly shaped fruits on the shelf with a label saying “Imported kiwifruit, unique taste”.
Amy picked one up curiously and asked the clerk next to her, “Why does this kiwifruit look so strange?”
The clerk smiled and explained, “Ma’am, this is a new variety introduced from abroad. I guarantee you won’t forget the taste once you try it.”
Amy bought a few, still a bit skeptical. When she got home, she couldn’t wait to cut one open. To her surprise, the pulp inside was purple and had a faint minty smell.
Amy quickly called her friend, “You’ll never guess what the kiwifruit I bought today looks like. Its pulp is purple and it tastes like mint.”
The friend exclaimed in surprise, “Amy, did you buy the wrong thing? That might be a dyed potato!”

Tom works in an advertising agency. Recently, the project pressure has been enormous, and colleagues have been working overtime until very late every day. One day, Tom couldn’t stand it anymore and went to the boss to voice his opinion.
“Boss, everyone is so tired recently. Can we have some benefits, like shortening the working hours?” Tom said cautiously.
The boss leaned back in his chair, thought for a while, and said seriously, “Tom, I understand everyone’s hard work. Well, from now on, the company will provide free coffee every morning. How about that?”
Tom was a bit disappointed but still replied politely, “Boss, that sounds good, but we need rest time more.”
Suddenly, the boss’s eyes lit up, and he said excitedly, “I’ve got it! I’ve decided that employees who work overtime until after 10 p.m. can come in 15 minutes late the next morning! This is an unprecedented benefit.”
Tom felt both funny and annoyed. He silently thought to himself, “This benefit is worse than having none.”
