Fire in a Dubai skyscraper

Country News, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.-  Smoke began to rise through the upper floors as thousands of people rushed down the stairs, leaving behind belongings, dreams, and a night that seemed ordinary until the orange glow illuminated the Marina sky.

More than 3,800 residents were evacuated from the iconic Tiger Tower,  a 67-story skyscraper, after a fire broke out on the upper floors in the heart of one of Dubai’s busiest districts.

The fire, which began around 9:30 p.m. (local time), was fought for six hours by Civil Defense teams, who managed to extinguish it without any casualties, according to official sources on Saturday.

The Dubai Media Office, through its official X channel, confirmed that the fire was successfully contained and all occupants were safely evacuated.

“All 3,820 residents are safe,” the statement said, highlighting the coordinated effort of emergency units that responded immediately to the call.

The affected structure, the iconic Tiger Tower, stands in the coveted Marina district, a high-traffic and tourist area in the most cosmopolitan city in the United Arab Emirates.

Since last night, authorities have maintained a rigorous inspection protocol to ensure the stability of the building and rule out any additional risks. Although the fire was contained to the upper levels, the material damage is still being assessed.

The exact origin of the fire is still unknown, which has led authorities to open a technical and forensic investigation.

Meanwhile, those affected are being temporarily housed, thanks to coordination between the local government and the building’s developer, which has initiated a contingency plan to assist the affected families.
