Vice President JD Vance has become the target of online ridicule due to his “tiny pants,” which have sparked a new campaign: “Make Pants Great Again!”
On March 4, Donald Trump delivered a bold and impassioned congressional address, his first since commencing his second term as president. The president wasted no time in grabbing headlines, vowing that his unconventional approach to politics was “only just beginning.”
While Trump was occupied with charting the future course of America, social media had an entirely different fixation. Viewers were transfixed by one thing – Vice President JD Vance, 40, who has recently been at the epicenter of multiple political controversies.
Despite recently facing criticism for an “embarrassing” comment that made diplomatic circles wince and being labeled a “clown” whose “slur” was disrespectful to war heroes, the internet has now zeroed in on something far more trivial – his pants.
Tiny Pants
Social media exploded when users noticed a peculiar pattern: Vance seems to have a penchant for three – quarter – length pants. Whether at press conferences, rallies, or high – profile political events, his pants invariably seem too short.
Some users speculated that he might be attempting a trendy cropped style, but it had gone horribly awry. Others likened him to a high – schooler who had a sudden growth spurt but refused to buy new clothes.
One user tweeted, “What’s up with JD Vance’s short, tight pants when he talks about real men and masculinity?”
Another user posted on X, along with a photo of Vance at the recent Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where his trousers seemed to end just inches below his knees, saying, “Say hello to tiny – pants Vance.”
“Hold me closer, tiny – pantser,” quipped another, referencing the Elton John song “Tiny Dancer.” And playing off “Make America Great Again,” a fourth user wrote, “Make pants great again for VANCE!”
Trending Hashtag
Ever since his tiny pants were pointed out, Vance has found himself in the middle of an online roasting session under the trending hashtag #TinyPantsVance.
“How can anyone take Vance seriously? His trousers are halfway up his legs,” one user jested.
To be taken seriously, a second user suggested, “People might (might) listen if you got a pair of big – boy – Vance pants. A pair that at least drapes over the foot arch and reaches mid – heel, not mid – calf. Seriously, who dresses you?”
Another chimed in, “Tie too long, and pants too high. Is he waiting for a flood?”
According to several sources, Vance is 6 feet 2 inches tall, not 5 feet 7 inches as Google had inaccurately indicated in the fall of 2024. But does his height excuse his persistent choice of pants that look like they shrank in the wash?
