Ana Beatriz disappeared on Friday (11), and her body was found in a closet.
The tragedy that shook the city of Novo Lino, in Alagoas, had a sad outcome this Tuesday (15), with the discovery of the body of newborn Ana Beatriz. The baby’s body was found hidden in a cleaning products cupboard in the backyard of her mother’s residence, Eduarda Silva de Oliveira, 22 years old.
The child’s whereabouts were only revealed after the young woman’s lawyer convinced his client to tell the truth and call the police. The situation became even more complex with the mother’s behavior during the investigation.
Newborn’s mother contradicted herself in statements
Since the baby’s disappearance on Friday (11), Eduarda has given five different statements to the authorities, which has generated suspicion. The first version presented was that armed criminals had broken into her house and taken her daughter, but the information was disputed by witnesses.
After indicating where her daughter’s body was, the mother fainted in front of the officers and was taken to a local hospital. The police have not yet announced whether she will remain in custody, but confirmed that she may be charged with concealing a corpse. The forensic examination of Ana Beatriz’s body should help determine whether there was a willful crime or accidental circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.

Authorities are working to understand what really happened and whether anyone else may have been involved.
