Liam Neeson has opened up about the profound love he once shared with his late wife, Natasha Richardson — even as he publicly embraces a new romance with Pamela Anderson.
In a touching interview with the New York Times, the 71-year-old actor recalled how he “fell under Natasha’s spell” while performing together in the 1993 Broadway revival of Anna Christie. Speaking in a near-whisper, Neeson reflected, “It was great doing it every night with her and falling in love.” The pair married a year later, before tragedy struck in 2009 when Richardson died from a traumatic brain injury following a skiing accident.
Now, sixteen years on, Neeson appears to have found love again — this time with 58-year-old Baywatch star Pamela Anderson. The two grew close while filming the upcoming Naked Gun reboot, and their chemistry has since spilled onto red carpets and press events, with affectionate hand-holding, kisses, and playful banter.
Their relationship has even won the support of Natasha’s close friends, including Andy Cohen, who told Neeson at the premiere, “She’s an independent woman, just like Tash was… this just works, you know?”
Neeson recalled his first impression of Anderson during filming: “I remember thinking, ‘Wow, she is gorgeous,’ but she also had this wonderful sense of silliness and humanity.” Anderson, for her part, admitted she was nervous meeting him, but described their dynamic as “easy-going and very silly,” adding, “It puts you at ease — on and off.”
The two bonded over her homemade sourdough bread and muffins on set, which Neeson praised as “phenomenal.” Anderson joked about her “very special recipe,” prompting laughter during a live broadcast.
A source confirmed that the couple has been “dating for a while” and described their relationship as refreshingly un-Hollywood. “Pam cooks, gardens… Liam gets involved. He loves that.”
Anderson recently shared on Instagram, “Love is in the air,” while Neeson, during an earlier interview, admitted: “With Pamela, I’m madly in love with her. She’s terrific to work with — funny, kind, no ego.”
As for The Naked Gun, Neeson revealed he didn’t want to copy the late Leslie Nielsen. “I just tried to be a serious cop who is a bit of a doofus.” Still, even after each day of filming, Neeson said he often questioned, “Is it working?” — a vulnerability that only adds depth to his role and perhaps to his blossoming real-life romance.
