I found a sociological experiment. A well-dressed girl was left by the sidewalk. Most people stopped to ask about her parents and offer help. But when the same girl was in dirty, torn clothes, many passed by without a glance. Some even looked mean.

This is today’s sad truth. We wonder, “When did the world become a place where selfish people only care about looks?” Or, why is a rich life worth more than a poor one?

Luckily, there are still kind people. Casey Fischer saw a homeless man collecting change. She got coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts during class break and thought to buy him food.

As she got closer, she saw he had only about $1. She invited him to her table and paid for his bagel and coffee.
