From rivals in the newsroom to soulmates at home — the Fox News anchor’s marriage is the stuff of rom-com dreams.
Fox News star Harris Faulkner is known for her commanding presence on television — but behind the scenes, she shares a quiet, enduring romance that’s lasted more than two decades.
Her husband? Tony Berlin — a former TV journalist turned PR executive who once worked for competing news stations. Yes, their love story began with rivalry, a little awkwardness, and one unforgettable date… involving another woman.
“He showed up to a party with a date — even though he’d asked to meet me,” Faulkner recalled with a laugh. “That takes some gall!”
But gall turned to charm. After six months in the friend zone, Faulkner gave Berlin a second shot — and it paid off. Just over a year later, Berlin proposed on the banks of Lake Superior, tossing her a small box during a lakeside stroll.
“He said, ‘Don’t throw that!’ I opened it — and there was the ring,” she shared.
They married on April 12, 2003, in Arizona — and have been inseparable ever since.
From Newsroom to Real Life
Tony Berlin isn’t just Harris Faulkner’s husband — he’s got serious credentials of his own. He spent 15 years in TV journalism, working with CBS, CNN, NBC, and ABC, before founding his own media firm in 2011.
Faulkner once called him a “really talented live-shot artist.” Now, he’s the founder of Berlin Media Relations, helping brands get headlines — instead of reporting them.
The pair first crossed paths in Minneapolis, where Faulkner anchored at ABC and Berlin worked as an investigative reporter for CBS. The competition didn’t stop love from blossoming.
A Colorful, Interfaith Family Life
Together, they’re raising two daughters — Bella (born 2006) and Danika (born 2009) — in what Faulkner lovingly calls a “Benetton ad family.”
“We’re religiously and racially different,” she told PEOPLE. “It’s beautiful.”
Faulkner, a devout Christian, and Berlin, who is Jewish, blend traditions at home — from Sunday church services to Passover readings. The couple says shared values are the glue that keeps them close.
“We share every meal. We share a prayer,” Faulkner said. “There’s more that unites us than divides us.”
A Husband Who Truly Shows Up
Berlin hasn’t just stood by Faulkner — he’s helped preserve her family’s legacy. Before her father passed in 2020, Berlin recorded interviews with him that would later appear in Faulkner’s Fox Nation series Footsteps of My Father.
“You’ll actually hear my dad’s voice telling his war stories — because Tony saved them,” Faulkner shared.
And for their 20th anniversary, Berlin gifted her a custom Kansas City Chiefs jersey with her name and the number 20 on the back.
“I was confused at first — Mahomes is 15!” she laughed. “Then he told me, ‘You’re on my team.’”
Now that’s what we call a touchdown in love.

Halle Bailey is requesting sole legal and physical custody of her son.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the Little Mermaid star is requesting sole legal and physical custody of her son Halo Saint, whom she welcomed in December 2023 with ex-boyfriend DDG. She is also asking the judge to order that her ex, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., not be allowed visitation with his son.
However, she is asking that DDG be given supervised visits with a professional company once a week for six hours while Halo is in Los Angeles.
Additionally, Bailey is asking the court to prevent DDG from taking their son outside of the county of Los Angeles.
She has also requested an order to prevent child abduction, saying that DDG has a history of abusing her, taking away or hiding Halo from her, threatening to take away or hide Halo from her, and not cooperating with her in parenting.
Bailey asks that a judge order DDG not to move with Halo without her written permission and to turn in or not apply for passports or other important documents for Halo. If he does travel with Halo with her permission, she is asking the judge to order that DDG provide his travel schedule, copies of round-trip airline tickets, addresses and phone numbers where they can be reached, and an open airline ticket for her if Halo is not returned.
The actress specified several examples where she has asked DDG to set a visitation schedule with her for Halo, and shared that one particular interaction came to a head in January. Bailey writes that when DDG came to get Halo, she asked him to talk about a schedule and he got visibly upset.
As she walked with him outside and buckled her son into his car seat, Bailey alleges that DDG was cursing at her and getting more and more upset. “I had left my front door open and was not even fully dressed as I was not even wearing shoes,” she says. “Darryl kept repeating ‘Get out of my car, BITCH.’”
“Halo was crying. I repeatedly pleaded with him to stop calling me a bitch,” Bailey continues. “I felt very nervous that he was taking Halo with him and was very agitated; I did not feel safe leaving a baby with him in his state. I also wanted to know when he would bring Halo back. He would not tell me.”
The argument continued and got physical as the two were “wrestling and tussling.”
“At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped,” Bailey alleges. “I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain. I wanted to get out of the car with Halo but was now stuck.”
DDG ended up driving to his house with Bailey in the car, since she wouldn’t leave Halo alone. Once they got there, the star claims that she told his family what happened and begged them to set a schedule, but they told her to just leave Halo and go.
Bailey details several other alleged examples of abuse, ending her statement by saying that she’s “done everything possible to avoid going to Court.”
“I realize that there is no placating Darryl. I cannot allow this abuse any longer. I cannot keep living like this,” she says. “I never know when he is going to demand our son to be in his Mother’s care and whether I will be subjected to his threats and abuse.”
Bailey also requested a temporary restraining order against DDG and was granted one by the court on Tuesday, May 13. He is required to remain over 100 yards away from Bailey and Halo at all times, including at Halo’s school and Bailey’s vehicle.
Representatives for Bailey and DDG did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Bailey and DDG began their relationship in 2022 and ultimately split in 2024.
A court hearing in the case was scheduled for June 4.
