It showed the restaurant’s stand on “political incorrectness,” with greetings like “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Easter,” and “God Bless America.” It also had “In God we trust” and free sundaes for vets on Veteran’s Day.
The owner put it up in 2012 after a customer got mad about Christian music.
“I wanted to be clear about these things,” Scheunemann said. “These values are getting controversial.”
Despite some fights, Scheunemann is firm, ready to talk and proud of his values.
But not everyone agreed. A customer from Oregon put the sign on Dairy Queen’s national Facebook page in 2017, saying it was too exclusive.
