You can’t talk about BCTA without Natalie Wood. She was a knockout in the movie, and it’s one of her most iconic film moments. This was her first film in three years and could’ve been a huge comeback — but she didn’t fully capitalize.
Shot in fall 1968, BCTA was Wood’s last acting gig for nearly five years. She took a break from features and didn’t return until Peeper (1975), a six-year gap.
Look at the bracelet on Natalie’s left wrist. As a child star, she hurt her wrist filming The Green Promise at 10. Running across a bridge, it caved in, and she fell, breaking her left wrist. Her stepfather covered it up, but Natalie, ashamed of the deformity, took charge.
To hide the flaw, Natalie always wore a bracelet. You hardly ever see a pic of her without it.
Did you know Leif Garrett made his film debut in BCTA?
Yep, the future teen idol first hit the big screen in this 1969 film, long before he was a ’70s pop star heartthrob.
