Behind the heartbreak, Dyan was set on reviving her career, and BCTA was her ticket. Her role as Alice Henderson was a turning point, and she grabbed it with new gusto.
“For eight months I was stuck. I was shocked, confused, and sad. Then one day I woke up. I knew sitting around feeling sorry for myself wouldn’t cut it. It was time to get busy,” she told the AP in 1968.
No film is perfect, and BCTA has its fair share of goofs. In one scene, Alice and Ted dig into their desserts, but in the next shot, they’re being served. Later, after a party, Bob plays a record, but the player has no record when the music keeps playing.
And in another bit, when Carol confesses her affair, Bob heads to the stairs in his topcoat. But in the next shot, the coat’s off and Carol’s holding it. These bloopers add a bit of charm.
