Hundreds evacuated after Paris’ Eiffel Tower catches fire

That fire burned for nearly 15 hours, bringing down the cathedral’s spire and badly damaging the roof. French President Emmanuel Macron promised to restore the historic place, saying at the time: “We’ll rebuild the cathedral even more beautifully and I want it done in five years. And we can.”

Notre Dame reopened this year, and world leaders, royals, and VIPs, including president-elect Donald Trump, went to a December ceremony for its restoration.

Even with the big evacuation at the Eiffel Tower, no one was hurt.

Authorities are set to keep looking into what caused the fire to stop future problems.
