The ‘Dead Man’s Fingers’ Fungus looks as creepy as it sounds

Many were amazed by the photos, unaware that this fungus is actually common in Britain, Ireland, mainland Europe, and parts of North America. If you’re sharp-eyed, you might spot it.

These mushrooms are usually found near dead or dying wood, often poking up through moss and rotten leaves.

Some thought Daniels’ photos were too strange to be real, but others who’d seen the mushrooms vouched for their authenticity. “I found the mushroom in a park I often visit in Western North Carolina,” Daniels told Bored Panda. “The walk is nice, and it’s by the French Broad River, so there’s great scenery.”

What do you think of Daniels’ discovery? Have you ever seen anything like it?
