Months later, they got the awful news:
“We were at Paignton Zoo when the hospital called to say he’d relapsed and needed to come back in. Bailey was showing signs of being breathless and tired,” Rachel said.
Doctors had to administer chemo again, hoping Bailey would fight it off and go into remission, but the tumors had already severely damaged his organs.
“He had a stem cell transplant. We had to try everything,” said Bailey’s 30-year-old father, Lee Cooper.
Bailey went into remission again in July, but the aggressive cancer returned in August. His internal organs had suffered extensive stress and damage.
