Heat usually comes out from the fridge’s sides or back. If heat dissipation slows down, the power it uses goes up. So, place your fridge away from walls and blockages where it vents heat.
Also, don’t put it near ovens, stoves, or microwaves. The heat from those can shorten the fridge’s life. And don’t leave the fridge door open long.
If you do, the cold air gets out. Then the compressor has to work harder to make more cold air.
