Somai’s carelessness nearly cost him everything – even his life. And there’s a lesson in it for us.
After doctors removed a huge tumor from an Indian farmer’s neck, he had every reason to be thankful. Somai, a 55-year-old farmer from Basti, Uttar Pradesh, had overlooked the growing tumor for 20 years. He mistook it for a swollen third gland until it ballooned to nearly the size of his head.
When the benign tumor was cut out, it tipped the scales at around 1.4 kg – roughly the equivalent of three pints of milk.
