Actor Treat Williams met a tragic end in a horrible motorcycle accident, and a whole bunch of celebs reached out to his family with their condolences on social media.

The 71-year-old actor passed away because of the accident, as stated in a release by his agent Barry McPherson on Monday, June 13.

John Travolta, who remembered their Broadway stints in the musicals Grease and More Than Here, was one of the first to pay his respects to the late actor.

He said, “Treat Williams and I got our start in NYC by being in two Broadway shows, More than Below and Grease.”

“I’m so sorry, Treat. You and your family are in my thoughts. We’ll miss you. Love, John.
Catherine Zeta-Jones, who starred with Williams in The Phantom (1996), tweeted a simple “R.I.P. Dearest Treat Williams” along with a still from the movie.

Kim Cattrall, an actress and mom of two who worked with the late actor in the 1999 TV movie 36 Hours to Die, tweeted, “I’m in shock!”

“Sad news, rest in peace, brother,” Sharon Stone tweeted next to a screenshot of a news article about his death.

Mark Hamill shared a photo of them together and wrote, “Just got the awful news that the world has lost @Rtreatwilliams.” Mark Hamill was an uncredited stormtrooper with him in The Empire Strikes Back (1980). Such a wonderful person, such a talented actor, and such a beloved friend. It breaks my heart. #RIP_Pal.”

“The many times we worked together were always amazing and I was always excited for the next time,” said Emily VanCamp, who was Williams’ co-star in the show Everwood, along with a pic of the actor when he was young. “I’m sending my best to your family, Treat. You’ll be missed, my dear friend.

“Treat and I spent months filming Once Upon a Time in America in Rome,” said James Woods, his co-star in the epic crime drama from 1984.

“A long shoot can make traveling really lonely, but his constant good humor and amazing sense of fun were priceless. I’m sad about his passing because he was someone I really liked. #TreatWilliams, Godspeed.

Billy Baldwin wrote a long tribute to the star where he praised him as a smart, talented, charming, witty, successful, good-looking, and kind person. “Heart of gold.”

“A terrible loss,” he added. “He fought hard to improve the environment and promote social justice. We won’t get to see you anymore. Rest in peace.
