Black dot on a woman’s palm could be a warning sign

Sadly, a lot of women silently suffer within their own families. We’d like to think domestic abuse isn’t as rampant in society as it used to be. But even if it’s on the decline – and I’m not saying it is – it’s still way too common to ignore.

Victims of domestic violence often feel trapped in a horrible situation. Many try to rationalize the physical, verbal, or emotional abuse they endure because they’re scared to seek help and uncertain about the future.

A few years ago, a Facebook campaign went viral, urging women facing domestic abuse to discreetly signal for help.

The “Black Dot Campaign” aimed to spotlight and identify victims by having them put a small black dot on their palm, so they could get the support needed.
