Tattoos let people show their individuality. Some go for small tats, while others cover their body. Tristan Weigelt, a 26 – year – old tattoo apprentice, got noticed for his extensive body art. He showed how he looked before turning his body into a canvas.
Weigelt started getting tattoos at 20. Now, 95% of his body is covered. He said it feels odd to picture himself without tattoos, yet he still feels the same inside.
He said the tattoos on his face and head hurt the most. He compared the pain to being scraped with a metal brush. He had six sessions, each lasting 5 – 6 hours, with the pain hitting an 8 on a 10 – point scale.
Weigelt said his body art doesn’t have hidden messages. Over five years, he spent $50,000 on tattoos.
If you’re considering a tattoo, Weigelt advises, “Pick something you really love and that has personal meaning. A lot of people worry if a tattoo will suit them. But if you truly like it, just get it.”
