Researchers claim breakthrough as two people ‘chat’ in dreams

A dream research breakthrough by REMspace, a San Francisco – based neurotechnology company, allows two people to exchange messages during lucid dreams. This achievement could transform our view of dreams and their uses, starting a new era in dream technology.

For the first time, REMspace made two people communicate in dreams. In the experiment, two participants were put into a lucid dreaming state. A random word was sent to the first dreamer in REM sleep via earbuds. The first dreamer’s response was recorded and sent to the second dreamer in a lucid dream. After waking up, the second person repeated the message, completing the first dream “chat”.

REMspace CEO Michael Raduga sees this as the start of a new neurotechnology era. He said it’s a revolutionary step in dream research and lucid dreaming could be as impactful as AI. He believes it can lead to commercial applications that change how we connect.

Though the initial experiment wasn’t a real – time conversation, the implications are huge. Dream communication could grow from simple exchanges to complex interactions. It could be used for therapy, education, entertainment, and personal connections.

Raduga imagines a future where this technology is as common as smartphones, enabling seamless dream communication. He predicts dream – related tech could become a big industry like AI, with wide applications in healthcare, entertainment, etc. Raduga even tested neurotechnology on himself with a brain implant to control dreams.

However, there are challenges. The experiment was one – way communication, not real – time. To make dream communication mainstream, the tech needs to be refined for wider use. There are also ethical questions about regulating subconscious – tapping tech and protecting privacy and mental health.

This technology challenges our understanding of consciousness and reality. As it develops, it may change how we connect, solve problems, and explore our subconscious. REMspace’s experiment is a turning point in dream research, opening up new possibilities. With leaders like Raduga, the dream world is becoming a real frontier for human progress, and the line between dreams and reality is set to blur.
