Almost 90% Of Drivers Think LED Headlights Are Too Bright And Pose A R.i.s.k To Others

LED headlights are popular in modern cars due to energy efficiency and stylish design. But about 90% of drivers think they’re too bright and risky for others on the road.

LEDs have clear advantages like better energy conversion and longer lifespan, and they mimic daylight, which helps drivers see better. However, their high brightness and bluish light can cause glare for oncoming drivers and those directly facing the beams.

The main risk is momentary blindness, especially on two – lane roads and in bad weather. It also affects pedestrians and cyclists.

Experts suggest mandatory headlight alignment tests. Drivers can also use anti – glare gear, set their mirrors right, and keep a safe distance from overly bright headlights. Looking at the right edge of the road when facing oncoming traffic can also reduce glare.
