Ivanka Trump’s appearance at the 2025 Liberty Inaugural Ball caused a big online debate, especially about her dress. The ball was for Donald Trump’s second presidential inauguration, and every detail, including Ivanka’s gown, was closely watched globally.
Ivanka wore a modern – day version of Audrey Hepburn’s famous dress from the 1954 movie Sabrina. Made by Givenchy, the white dress had black floral embroidery and a small train. She paired it with black opera gloves, high – heels, a diamond choker, and a neat chignon. It looked a lot like Hepburn’s original, and got both praise and criticism.
Some people praised Ivanka for her elegance and the tribute to Hepburn, seeing it as a sign of classic style. Hepburn’s son, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, even agreed it was a nice gesture, especially since it was around the anniversary of Hepburn’s death and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
But many critics on the internet thought the dress wasn’t as good as Hepburn’s. Some also said using Hepburn’s look didn’t fit because of the Trump family’s politics. One strong comment said, “Audrey Hepburn would curse them all. She didn’t survive WWII and fight against everything the Trump family represents just for her dress to be used like this.”
Fans, though, defended Ivanka, saying she looked beautiful and the tribute was well – thought – out. They thought the dress was a great choice for the important event.
Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner said they won’t work in Donald Trump’s second administration. But her appearance at the inauguration still put her in the spotlight and started more talks about her influence and style.
