Blackheads
Blackheads are common skin issues from clogged pores, appearing as small, dark bumps, usually on the nose, chin, and forehead. They’re not due to poor hygiene but a buildup of oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria in the pore. Try these:
- Baking Soda: Make a paste with baking soda and water, gently scrub it on your skin in circular motions to unclog pores and remove blackheads. Rinse and moisturize after.
- Honey: Raw honey has antibacterial and pore – clearing properties. Apply a thin layer to your face, leave for 15 – 20 minutes, then rinse.
- Clay Masks: Bentonite or kaolin clay masks are great for deep – cleaning pores and absorbing excess oil. Apply, let dry, then rinse. Use 1 – 2 times a week.
- Steam Treatments: Exposing your skin to steam opens pores and loosens blackheads for easier extraction. Lean over a bowl of hot (not boiling) water for 5 – 10 minutes, then use a blackhead extractor tool gently.
- Exfoliating Scrubs: Use a gentle scrub with ingredients like jojoba beads or bamboo to slough off dead skin cells and unclog pores. Focus on problem areas and don’t over – exfoliate.
Be gentle when removing blackheads, as excessive picking or squeezing can damage the skin. If blackheads persist or your skin gets irritated, see a dermatologist.
