Reuters reported that in 2016, Vance sent a private Facebook message to an associate, saying, “I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical a**hole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler.”
When his Hitler comment became public in 2022, a spokesperson “didn’t deny it but said it no longer reflected Vance’s views.”
In a dramatic turnaround, he has since become one of Trump’s most loyal supporters, climbing the ranks to become vice president.
Congressional speech
On March 4, House Speaker Mike Johnson was in charge on the House floor, getting ready for the president’s bold and passionate congressional speech.
But just before Trump declared that his disruptive political approach was “just getting started,” Vice President JD Vance was talking to Johnson, right in front of a live microphone.
But what was he saying?
‘Full reckoning’
Lip – reading expert Jeremy Freeman told The Mirror that Vance privately said, “Yes it is, a full reckoning, and long overdue.”
Reportedly, he was also heard telling Johnson, “By the way, I think the speech is going to be great. But I don’t know how you do this for 90 minutes.”
Johnson’s response to the vice president was picked up by a nearby live microphone. He was heard saying, “The hardest thing was doing it during Biden, when his speech was a stupid campaign speech.”
This wasn’t a casual comment – it was serious enough for Johnson to quietly lower his microphone, as if to keep their conversation private.
