‘American Pickers’ Danielle Colby suffered loss days after wedding – Daily Stories

Danielle Colby, the star of American Pickers, lost the real-life Santa Claus who brought “inexplicable magic” into her life just a few days after her dream wedding to Jeremy Scheuch.

Fans of American Pickers were delighted to see Danielle Colby sharing photos of her fairytale wedding to Jeremy Scheuch on February 15, 2024.

In an outdoor ceremony in Puerto Rico, the 49-year-old celebrity tied the knot with photographer Scheuch, donning a powder blue gown that trailed elegantly behind her.

The rustic-chic wedding was a perfect display of the couple’s unique style and creative passion.

The TV personality posted a photo of her and Scheuch facing the altar on February 17, their backs harmoniously blending with the bright blue sky.

“It was the happiest moment of my life,” Colby wrote in the post. She described standing on a hillside with her best friend, overlooking the ocean, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Jeremy’s father, “Papa John,” was absent, but she said, “Our hearts are full.” The family, who were staying with his dad during his cancer treatment, was dearly missed. “We missed them, but their spirit was with us.”

A few days after the couple got married, Colby shared another photo with the caption, “Hold on Papa John, we are on our way.”

On February 19, the newlyweds traveled from Puerto Rico to Kansas City, where Jeremy’s father was battling terminal cancer.

John, who had played Santa Claus for countless children over 40 years, passed away from cancer at the age of 70 that day.

Colby, always transparent with her followers, recounted how his death had deeply affected their family, bringing tears and precious memories to the surface.

Colby posted a heartwarming tribute to Papa John on Facebook. “You dedicated your life to advocating and performing miracles for the most vulnerable children in your community. When we were in need, you opened your doors and sprinkled your magic on us. You always loved and cared deeply.”

“Organizing this wedding without you was tough. We often found ourselves in tears as the simplest things reminded us of you. There were these small, wonderful occurrences that we had never experienced before, and suddenly, the entire week of our wedding was filled with a mysterious charm in our surroundings,” she wrote about the man who served as the president of Santa America from 2015 until his passing.

Colby said of her beloved father-in-law: “Even though you were thousands of miles away, trying to recover, you were with us in every moment, every sunset and sunrise. Every embrace and celebration. I feel your presence everywhere, even now that you’re gone. Absolutely everywhere.”

A Supportive Community
Fans of American Pickers sent an outpouring of love and condolences to Colby and her new husband on social media.

“I’m so sorry for your loss. Even though he couldn’t be at your wedding, he waited and let go, knowing that you and your son would find comfort in each other and perhaps carry on some of his magic,” a fan wrote.

Another commented, “Such love. I’m heartbroken by your loss. Papa John is smiling down on you!” A third said, “He will be with you forever. It’s a pity it won’t be in a physical form.”
