Over the past few presidencies, we have become accustomed to rumors circulating about the health of the POTUS. It was true of Joe Biden, and now it is true of Donald Trump.
78-year-old Donald Trump is the oldest president to take office in January, even though Joe Biden was 82 years old when he left. We have seen a lot out of Donald Trump and his administration since he took office, and much of it has been full of controversy.
There has been a slight shift in recent weeks, however, away from all of the executive orders to a focus on the health of the president. Some have even wondered if his health was failing, as he would sometimes stumble or would lose his train of thought.
The recent pictures of the president show that he has lost a little bit of weight, which is estimated to be about 30 pounds since 2022. He did so because he is eating a healthier diet, in part because of the leadings of the First Lady.
Fans of Donald Trump are very happy about the weight loss but one doctor said that sometimes, significant weight loss may be indicative of a health problem. One doctor even said: “For a hypothetical person, who has taken on the office of President of the United States for a second term, at the age of 80, there might be several factors that could affect their weight.
“An almost 80-year-old with a busy schedule might be more susceptible to certain conditions that can cause weight loss. Diabetes, for instance, can trigger weight fluctuations when the condition is uncontrolled. Blood sugar can become more difficult to regulate as we age, and insulin resistance can develop with age.”
Because of the concerns, a physician at the White House has released a report on the health of Donald Trump. It talks about his health since he returned to the White House in January.
U.S. Navy Capt. Sean Barbarella, a White House physician, reported that the president is in ‘excellent cognitive and physical health.’
According to the report, the president has a history of high cholesterol that is ‘well-controlled’ and he is on two different medications because of it.
The scarring of his right ear was also addressed, which occurred because of the gunshot wound after July’s assassination attempt. They said that the scar was healing as normal and his hearing was normal as well.
Trump was also hospitalized with COVID-19 in October 2020 when he was running for reelection. This and his history with COVID-19 were also added to the report, and it stated that he had the recommended vaccinations.
In addition, Trump told reporters that he went through the cognitive test because he wanted to be ‘a little different’ from Joe Biden. On Barbarella’s report, it said that the president scored a 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment test.
