Cleaning the TV screen is crucial for clear visuals and eye protection. Proper cleaning also ensures the TV’s visual quality and lifespan.
Why Not Use Tissue Paper?
Many use tissue paper for convenience, but it’s bad for TV screens. New TV screens, like LED, OLED, and LCD ones, are complex and sensitive. They have anti – reflective and anti – scratch coatings. Tissue paper can damage this thin coating. It’s not soft enough and may scratch the screen. These scratches may not be visible at first but will dull the screen and reduce image quality. Also, tissue paper leaves microscopic particles, making the screen look dirtier.
The Right Cleaning Method
- Turn off the TV. Use a special cleaning cloth (like felt napkins, felt cloths, microfiber cloths, or soft, lint – free cotton napkins) to wipe dust from the screen in one direction.
- Spray a smart – TV – specific cleaning solution onto the cloth and gently wipe the screen. Be careful not to squeeze hard as smart TVs are thin.
- If the cleaning solution doesn’t work, mix 3% vinegar and water 1:1. The vinegar solution can remove fingerprints and household chemicals.
- After wiping, let the screen dry naturally. There’s no need to clean it daily.
