He got out of the truck, not imagining that death awaited him…See more

Thursday afternoon turned tragic for a man whose identity has not yet been revealed by authorities. Around 5:30 p.m., he got out of his truck in a seemingly peaceful area, unaware that he was about to meet his fate.

Witnesses say the man, approximately 40 years old, parked his vehicle in front of a small local business in the Santa Elena neighborhood. He had barely gotten out of the vehicle when he was surprised by two men on a motorcycle, who opened fire on him without saying a word.

The gunshots caused panic among neighbors and passersby. “It all happened so fast, we just heard the shots and then saw the man fall,” said a woman who witnessed the events from inside her store.

Paramedics arrived at the scene minutes later, but there was nothing they could do: the man had died instantly from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police cordoned off the area and began the corresponding investigation. Although the motive for the attack has not been confirmed, initial indications point to a possible settling of scores. Nearby security cameras are already being reviewed to identify those responsible.

The community, dismayed, demands justice. Once again, violence strikes in an everyday moment, reminding us that, on certain streets, death can lurk when we least expect it.
