Images of family before they died in helicopter crash were released by a North American newspaper.
A tragedy struck New York City on Thursday (10), when a helicopter crashed into the Hudson River , killing six people. Among the victims were Siemens executive Agustín Escobar, his wife, the couple’s three children and the aircraft’s pilot .
Before boarding, the family had recorded the moment with photos, which were later recovered using the “Wayback Machine” tool. The images are no longer available on the website of the company that operated the tour.
Family took photo before boarding helicopter
The photographs, which are sold for $25 after the flight, have a watermark and were published by The New York Post. G1 confirmed the authenticity of the material. Escobar’s family was of Spanish origin, and the children were between the ages of 4 and 11, as reported by the American broadcaster ABC News.
The 36-year-old pilot also died in the accident, but his name has not yet been revealed. Escobar was a renowned professional and had served as global CEO of Siemens Mobility’s Rail Infrastructure division since October 2024.
With a career spanning over 27 years at the company, he had also previously been president of Siemens in Spain. The panoramic tour was part of the family’s visit to the city.
Aircraft involved in accident in the United States
The aircraft involved in the accident belonged to the company New York Helicopters and was a Bell 206 model. The helicopter crashed around 3:15 pm local time, plunging into the Hudson River shortly after experiencing failures in the air.
