I may or may not have started counting on my fingers, just to be sure.

Here are some tips:

  • Read Aloud: Sometimes, hearing the words helps spot errors. Reading “Can you find the the mistake?” aloud might make you notice the double “the” your eyes skipped.
  • Look for Repetition: Repetition is a common puzzle trick. We usually focus on numbers, colors, or order, but repeated words or letters are often the real errors.
  • Examine the Numbers: After checking the text, look at the numbers. They’re colorful and distracting, but there’s no mistake in the 1 – 9 sequence. All digits are there and in order.
  • Analyze the Colors: Colors are often used to mislead, but here they’re just a distraction. The colors are correct.

If you haven’t found it, the mistake is in the text. The word “the” is repeated. It’s a sneaky error that our brains overlook as we skim familiar words. Don’t believe me? Look at the image again!

This puzzle shows how our brains process familiar language. We fill in gaps and miss small errors to read faster. It’s a cognitive quirk that makes us fall for tricks like this.
