
A shocking scandal has rocked New Mexico’s judicial system as Dona Ana County Magistrate Judge Joel Cano resigned after the arrest of an alleged member of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, Cristhian Ortega-Lopez, found living in his home.
Ortega-Lopez, an undocumented immigrant who crossed into the U.S. illegally, was discovered with firearms and ties to the gang. He had been employed by Cano’s wife, Nancy, and was offered housing on their property.
