An 18-year-old girl was beheaded after not responding to the romantic interest of a 62-year-old man in Trairi, in the interior of Ceará, Brazil, this Friday (13).
The suspect frequented the victim’s home and, at some point, fell in love with her and disliked being rejected.
According to the Ceará Military Police (PMCE), after killing the young woman, the man fled and was captured by the 23rd Military Police Battalion in the town of Gualdrapas, where he was assaulted and lynched by the local population.
Due to the confusion, police personnel in the district were reinforced. ” After the situation was brought under control, the man was taken to the municipal hospital for medical attention and will later be presented to the city’s Civil Police Station ,” the PMCE stated.
The Trairi Municipal Police Station opened an investigation against the elderly man for the crime of femicide.
The girl had been missing since 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (12). “The Military Police were called after the family reported the young woman missing early Friday morning. She had left home the day before, around 7:00 p.m., and had not returned ,” the police reported.
On social media, the young woman was identified only as Lorena, and it was reported that she had just given birth to a child.
Even in the morning, the police team received information about the location of a woman’s body in the town of Padre Anchieta, in the rural area of the municipality.
Upon arrival at the scene, the team confirmed that the body was wearing clothing similar to that of the missing woman, according to the statement.
