My dad taught me this trick to unclog drains in just 10 minutes with 0 effort. Here’s how it works.

Unclogging Drains and Cleaning White Pillows

Unclogging Drains
Clogged drains are a common household hassle. They can happen in the kitchen sink, bathroom, or shower. Commercial solutions often use harsh chemicals that can harm plumbing and the environment. Luckily, there’s an easy way.
My dad taught me a super – efficient drain – unclogging method. It’s simple, eco – friendly, and takes only 10 minutes.

Materials Needed

  1. Baking Soda
  2. White Vinegar
  3. Boiling Water

Steps

  1. Pour a pot of boiling water down the clogged drain to loosen grease or soap.
  2. Pour about half a cup of baking soda into the drain. It acts as a natural abrasive.
  3. Follow with a cup of white vinegar. The reaction helps break down deposits.
  4. Let the mixture sit for 5 – 10 minutes. Don’t run water during this time.
  5. Flush the drain with another pot of boiling water to clear debris.

Cleaning Yellow Stains on White Pillows
White pillows often get yellow stains from sweat, body oils, and the environment. My nana has a great trick to clean them with almost no effort.

Materials Needed

  • Baking soda (1/2 cup)
  • White vinegar (1/2 cup)
  • Mild laundry detergent
  • A large basin or bathtub
  • Washing machine
  • A sunny spot or dryer

Steps

  1. Take off pillowcases and covers.
  2. Fill a large basin or bathtub with warm water.
  3. Add half a cup of baking soda and half a cup of white vinegar.
  4. Submerge the pillows and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Gently squeeze out water and put the pillows in the washing machine.
  6. Wash on a gentle cycle with mild detergent.
  7. Dry the pillows thoroughly, preferably in the sun or on low heat in the dryer.

Why It Works
For drains, boiling water, baking soda, and vinegar work together to unclog. For pillows, baking soda and vinegar combine to clean. Baking soda lifts stains, and vinegar breaks down oils and neutralizes odors. The soaking makes it easy to clean without damaging the fabric.
