She Thought It Was the Happiest Day of Her Life

She Thought It Was the Happiest Day of Her Life — Until the Truth Came Out

From the beginning, I thought that this wedding would be the best place to reveal a secret. Greg didn’t realize I had the detonator, but he believed he understood everything.

The wedding that Greg and I had was like something from a fairy tale. Greg stood at the altar and grinned. For him, it was the start of an amazing life. For me, however, it marked the conclusion of a lovely deception.

The event was a dream come true, complete with champagne toasts, laughter reverberating throughout the yard, and his parents behaving like the ideal in-laws.

How about me? My contribution was excellent.

She danced with Greg and grinned as though nothing was wrong. On the inside, though, I was just waiting for the appropriate moment to express everything.

Greg’s excitement for our wedding night grew as the evening went on. His eyes were excited, and his hands lingered too long. But all I could think about was how to win.

When the guests had gone and his parents had gone to bed in the downstairs guest rooms, Greg showed me the master suite that they had given us as a wedding present. The air in the room changed as soon as he shut the door.

He approached me cautiously while clutching my bridal gown in both hands. “I’ve been waiting for this all night,” he whispered in my ear.

“Me too,” I smiled in response.

He unzipped my dress slowly.

I turned around as the cloth hit the floor and witnessed his entire life disintegrate.

In addition to the words he had said to her the evening before our wedding: “One last taste of freedom before being stuck with the same body for the rest of your life,” there was a temporary but authentic tattoo of Sarah’s face on my chest.

Greg dropped to his knees. “No, this isn’t taking place.”

“How did you know?” he froze.

“Sarah couldn’t wait to throw your betrayal in my face,” I said harshly. “So I made sure you would never forget it.”

Outside, there were footsteps. James and Marianne, his parents, entered.

“What’s happening?” “Where is everybody?” Marianne looked around and asked.

She turned really pale. She looked at the ink. James, who tended to keep quiet, didn’t need to speak. His stiff jaw and hands made it obvious that he was upset.

“It’s simple,” I responded calmly. “I was cheated on by Greg.” with his former partner. The night before our wedding, something occurred.

Surprised, Marianne took a seat on the bed’s edge. James remained still. Greg sobbed while remaining on the ground.

“Gregory,” snarled James. “Is that accurate?”

He remained silent.

“He slept with her,” I ensured. Additionally, he informed her that he needed “one last taste of freedom.”
Marianne’s shriek sounded as if it were stuck in her throat. James had anger in his eyes.

Greg made an effort to protect himself. “It was an error.” I didn’t intend to

“It wasn’t a mistake,” I shouted. It was a decision. I was let down by you. You now have to cope with the outcome.

He begged for forgiveness. “Please, Lilith. I cherish you.

I chuckled.

“You adore me?” You have no idea what love is, Greg. If you had known, you wouldn’t have done what you did.

“Please,” he pleaded as he crawled up to me. Please, please, please.

I took a step back. “It’s finished.” As soon as you returned to Sarah, you ruined our relationship.

James remarked loudly as he stepped forward.

He said to them, “Get up.” “Get up and take responsibility for your actions.”

Greg got to his feet slowly. His shabby tuxedo and tear-streaked cheeks gave him a somber appearance. A man who had lost everything was he.

I gazed at his parents.

I calmly said, “I’m leaving.” “He’s your problem now.”

“Please, Lilith,” Greg shouted again. “Please don’t leave.”

However, I had already finished. After covering the tattoo with a robe, I proceeded to the door.
“Lilith!” he exclaimed after me. “I am capable of changing!” “This will be handled by me!”

I didn’t even turn around. Nothing else could be said.

As I descended the stairs, James’s voice broke the stillness. It was angry and low.

“Greg, you accomplished this.” Everything was damaged by you.

After that, the house was filled with Greg’s broken sobs.

But I wasn’t harmed by them.

I had my head held high as I left that house.

I was not trying to lie.

not being dishonest.

Not with Greg.
