The tragic accident that occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Vía al Mar roundabout, near the Papiros Service Station in the municipality of Puerto Colombia, Atlántico, has gone viral on social media.
In the video circulating on social media, the driver of the vehicle is seen being ejected after crashing into one of the road’s curbs.
The images, trending on social media today, were captured not only by security cameras near the area, but also by other drivers who were passing by at the time of the traffic accident.
These are also being analyzed by authorities to try to gather details about the accident and what really happened.
The driver was identified as Amir Amaya, who was ejected from the vehicle as it flipped several times in the air and then rolled to where it finally came to rest.
In one of the videos authorities have, the driver is seen traveling at an apparent excessive speed and colliding with a dividing barrier, causing him to “fly” and spin several times, as we mentioned before, not only in the air but also on the slope of the road.
The vehicle was completely destroyed, and the damage is incalculable. Authorities are investigating the cause.
Meanwhile, Amir Amaya’s body is being held at the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences.
Authorities did not reveal the victim’s age or where she was from.
