Woman died after becoming ill after inhaling a mixture of products
Shortly after applying the product to the room, the woman began to feel unwell. Deusineide then left the bathroom, lay down on the couch, asked for water and gradually lost consciousness.
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was called to help her, but upon arriving at the scene, the team found that Deusineide was already dead. The suspicion is that she was poisoned by inhaling the cleaning products, but the family is awaiting the report from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) to confirm the cause of death.
Case serves as a warning
This case serves as a warning about the risks of mixing cleaning products. Bleach, for example, is highly volatile and should not be combined with several other products, such as vinegar, alcohol, disinfectant, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide and detergents.
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) warns that products such as alcohol, bleach and disinfectants are only safe when used according to the instructions provided by the manufacturers. Homemade mixtures can release gases or substances considered toxic, which are extremely harmful to health.
