How people view beauty in American and the world at large

The concept of beauty standards is evolving, spurred by social media platforms where women are empowered to exhibit their natural beauty in diverse body shapes and sizes. A recent research study published in the International Journal of Fashion Design, Technology, and Education validates this transformation. It reveals that the typical American woman presently wears a size between 16 and 18, in contrast to the size 14 of past decades.

This study, which scrutinized data from more than 5,500 U.S. women, determined that the average waist circumference has expanded from 34.9 inches to 37.5 inches over the past two decades. Susan Dunn, a principal authority on the study, contends that this data is of great significance. “Merely understanding the average can significantly assist numerous women in enhancing their self-perception,” she states.
