The prime suspect in the December 4th murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, Luigi Mangione, grew up in a rich Maryland home.
Mangione, from Baltimore County, was valedictorian at Gilman School in 2016. He noted parents’ sacrifices for the school in his speech.
After Penn, his life changed. He became reclusive after 2023 back surgery, cutting off family and friends. His mom reported him missing on November 18 due to odd behavior.
Five days after Thompson’s Manhattan hotel shooting, Mangione was caught at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s on December 9 and charged with murder.
