Teenager with rare condition that made her age eight times faster who inspired thousands online with her positivity videos dies just before Christmas: Parents pay tribute to daughter who dreamt of marrying and becoming a teacher

Tragic Beandri Booysen, who had an ultra-rare incurable disease that made her age eight times faster than normal in her short life, has passed away at just 19.

Brave Beandri from Pretoria, South Africa, wasn’t expected to live past 14 but didn’t give up and became an online star with over 269,000 followers.

Just two months ago, the 12-kilo teen had open-heart surgery and was recovering well, determined to celebrate Christmas with her parents.

She was born with Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, a genetic mutation that causes rapid aging in kids and osteoporosis, making bones fragile.

Only one in 4 million babies get this incurable condition. Beandri was one of 200 known sufferers globally and the last in South Africa to die from it.
