How to Spot Naturally – Ripened Tomatoes (Chemical – Free)

  • Check the Color
    Naturally – ripened tomatoes have an even color all over. This is because sunlight evenly affects them from the start of fruit development. In contrast, chemically – ripened tomatoes may seem overly ripe.
  • Examine the Bottom of the Tomato
    This can be a key way to tell real, natural tomatoes from chemically – treated or imitation ones. Round, plump tomatoes with a slightly concave tip usually grow in a good environment and ripen organically. On the other hand, tomatoes with scaly tops or oddly – shaped fruits are likely chemically – ripened, grew in poor conditions, or had improper fertilization.
